Fits an existing stair void
If the landing and stair well allow, the shaft can sit without a separate corridor. In finished houses that is often the only practical path — not a promise for every plan.
Cabin smaller than apartment
A tight house shaft usually needs a compact cabin. The finish can match the villa, if the shaft is measured first.
Hydraulic is common on low rise
For two to three stops, a power unit beside the shaft is usually more practical than a rooftop machine room. That is a pattern, not a rule for every villa.
Limits
Not an apartment elevator

Even on a tight landing, the pit below the lowest stop and the space above the car still have to be checked. Do not assume a pitless model for every house.
Not every stair well fits
A narrow landing, a tight stair turn, or no path for equipment can make install hard or impossible. We say that on the first visit, not after the quote.
A certificate still applies
A private house does not cancel inspection. A lift that carries people still needs a certificate path; details sit on the certification service.
Better to name the limits in the first meeting. If there are more stops, or the lift must be shared by several units, leave this page. A shallow pit does not mean pitless; the drive type changes. Keep the certificate off the lump-sum line too.
