Mona Drive China

Founded in 2004, Mona Drive — officially Suzhou Mengtenali Drive Equipment Co., Ltd. — is a Chinese manufacturer focused entirely on permanent-magnet synchronous (PMSM) gearless traction machines for elevators, available in the Atlas Asanbar Arsh catalog.

Mona Drive began in 2004 in Shanghai as Shanghai Mengtenali Drive Equipment Co., Ltd., a manufacturer of elevator traction machines. A decade later, in 2014, the company relocated its operations from Shanghai to the Fenhu High-Tech Industrial Development Zone in Wujiang, Suzhou — a move that set up its later expansion.

Mona Drive's Suzhou plant covers more than 80,000 m² and brings R&D, manufacturing, and sales together under one roof. The facility officially began production in 2016, and the company states its annual capacity is now close to 200,000 traction machines — a figure that, like much production data from Chinese manufacturers, comes from the company's own disclosure rather than independent audit.

Unlike many competitors, Mona Drive runs no geared-machine line at all: every traction product it makes is a permanent-magnet synchronous (PMSM) gearless machine. Its catalog spans more than 45 models across eight series — including MCK, MONA, MDD, MGD, and MCB — from compact machine-room-less units for light residential elevators to heavy-duty machines rated for multi-tonne freight cars. Alongside traction machines, Mona Drive also manufactures elevator cab displays and multimedia systems as a secondary product line.

Mona Drive China — company timeline

  1. 2004

The company was founded in Shanghai as Shanghai Mengtenali Drive Equipment Co., Ltd., a manufacturer of elevator traction machines.

  2. 2014

Operations relocated from Shanghai to the Fenhu High-Tech Industrial Development Zone in Wujiang District, Suzhou.

  3. 2016

The Suzhou production base — more than 80,000 m², combining R&D, manufacturing, and sales under one roof — officially began production.

  4. 2026

Today, focused entirely on permanent-magnet synchronous gearless machines, Mona Drive offers 45+ models across 8 product series (including MCK, MONA, and MDD) and reports an annual production capacity of nearly 200,000 units.

On certifications, the company holds an ISO 9001 quality management certification, and its traction machines are stated to carry China's National Grade-2 Energy Efficiency rating, CE marking for Europe, and TÜV certification from Germany — all as declared on the company's own site. At the time of writing, no certificate scans were published on the official "Certifications & Honors" page, so these should be treated as company-stated claims rather than independently verified certificates.

Atlas Asanbar Arsh carries Mona Drive's gearless machines in its catalog so engineers and contractors can match rated load, speed, and machine-room constraints to the right model from this Chinese manufacturer for their project.
