FURDER started in 2014 in Nanxun, Huzhou — a district in Zhejiang province known as China's "Elevator Capital" for its density of lift manufacturers. Unlike many longer-established competitors that build both geared and gearless machines, FURDER chose a different path from day one: an exclusive focus on gearless permanent-magnet synchronous (PMSM) traction machines, with no geared product line in its catalog at all.
That young but focused strategy was reinforced by an important technical partnership: starting in 2015, FURDER teamed up with Spain's Cologne — a European traction-system supplier with roots dating back to 1995 — and a year later the two companies opened a joint R&D center in Europe. The result is European electromagnetic design carried directly onto FURDER's China production line, a path that sets it apart from many purely domestic Chinese manufacturers.
FURDER's lineup is organized around four application families: a villa series for home and small-capacity lifts (up to 630 kg), a passenger series covering both machine-room-less and conventional machine-room installs (up to 1,600 kg), a freight series for industrial elevators and car lifts (up to 16 tonnes), and a high-speed series for high-rise towers. The ultra-high-speed FRD71 and FRD82 models — reaching 10 m/s — trace back to an internal 2017 R&D project to develop a machine rated for 2,000 kg at that speed.

FURDER was recognized as a National High-Tech Enterprise and a national/provincial "Little Giant" (specialized, sophisticated, novel) enterprise, and established its provincial-level R&D center.
2026
Today FURDER runs a 12,000+ m² facility with capacity for up to 50,000 machines a year, more than 27 gearless model series across four application lines — villa, passenger, freight, and high-speed — and exports to Iran, Turkey, Russia, India, and Mongolia.
FURDER also holds National High-Tech Enterprise status and a national/provincial "Little Giant" (specialized, sophisticated, novel enterprise) designation in China, alongside ISO 9001 certification, CE-marked products, and a provincial-level R&D center. Its 12,000+ m² plant employs more than 300 people — over a hundred of them technical staff, supported by a postdoctoral research workstation — with capacity for up to 50,000 machines a year.
