Behran Asanbar's story began in 1989 in Tehran, as a small workshop repairing and building elevator parts, at a time when Iran's elevator industry relied heavily on imported components and motors. Over more than three decades, that small workshop grew step by step into one of the very few Iranian manufacturers of elevator traction machines — a path built on developing in-house engineering knowledge that turned Behran from a repair shop into a maker.
Today Behran's core product line is two fully Iranian-made machine families: the BL series of geared (worm-gearbox) machines, offered in AC2 and VVVF drive technology, and the BM series of gearless machines, which the company markets as Iran's first domestically produced gearless elevator motor line. The BM300, BM320, BM360, and BM380 models span a rated-load range of 450–1,200 kg at 1 and 1.6 m/s, and install in both machine-room (MR) and machine-room-less (MRL) configurations.
The main advantage of the gearless BM machines is their gearbox-free construction, which lowers energy consumption, removes the need for gear oil, and significantly reduces cab noise and vibration — making them well suited to noise-sensitive buildings such as hospitals, hotels, and residential complexes. The geared BL machines, with their durable alloy housing and optimized lubrication system, remain an economical, dependable choice for residential, commercial, and industrial projects.
